Parfetts is predicting record sales of beers, wines and spirits during the World Cup later this month as more fans watch the matches at home.
The wholesaler has launched a trade show promotion to help retailers maximise margins during the competition, which runs from 20 November to 18 December.
The trade show will see a range of offers on popular brands and key lines that consumers are expected to shop for throughout the tournament. Parfetts is also pushing its own label range.
Guy Swindell, joint Managing Director of Parfetts, commented: “Some pundits are predicting the World Cup will generate extra sales worth £1.3bn if England manages to get through to the second round. So it’s a huge opportunity for our retailers, and we’ve put together a promotion that offers our lowest prices on a wide range of food and drink.”
The group’s trade show launches this Sunday and runs until 19 November. Parfetts is helping retailers attract more shoppers with a range of measures, including promotional leaflets and social media and digital marketing campaigns.
Swindell concluded: “We advise retailers to put themselves in the best position to win during the World Cup. Ensure that you take advantage of these offers and that stores feature promotions that are built around the shopper mission with link buys between alcohol and snacks. We also advise that a delivery partner will help drive revenue during matches.”
